Job Overview
Texas Responsible Energy, Inc. (TREE) is seeking a motivated and reliable Solar Installer I to join our growing team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry while contributing to the installation of solar energy systems. The Solar Installer I will assist with the setup, maintenance, and repair of solar systems for residential and commercial properties. Working alongside experienced installers and electricians, you’ll learn best practices for ensuring high-quality installations that meet industry standards, including compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety protocols.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems, both residential and commercial.

Support the planning and implementation of Main Panel Upgrades (MPU) and Critical Load Panel (CLP) installations.

Learn to interpret blueprints, photovoltaic (PV) line drawings, and product manuals while adhering to NEC standards.

Help transport, assemble, and install solar equipment while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Participate in DC and AC electrical runs, including work on rooftops, ladders, and confined spaces.

Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting system malfunctions under the guidance of senior electricians.

Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, NEC codes, and other regulatory requirements.

Help ensure job site cleanliness and timely project completion.
Qualifications
Experience: No previous experience required; familiarity with construction or basic electrical work is a plus.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Skills: Willingness to learn how to interpret technical drawings, use trade tools, and follow safety standards.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds; comfortable working on rooftops and in various weather conditions.
Certifications: Basic knowledge of OSHA standards or NEC codes is beneficial but not required.
Transportation: Reliable transportation to job sites in East Texas (Tyler and surrounding areas), DFW, or Houston.
Compensation
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications).
Schedule
Varies based on project size:
Residential projects: 1–3 days
Commercial projects: 1–2 weeks or longer
Notifications provided 3–5 business days before project start dates.
